By Robert White, Judge for the Impact Awards 2023.
Britain has a rich history of delivering innovation that impacts upon the world and it is this thought leadership that is often recognised. However, whilst it is often those few industry shaking ideas that are recognised by all, this does not capture the whole story for British business innovation and the impact that it has upon practices and procedures.
Within the automotive industry, Britain leads the way in high level motorsport and premium vehicle manufacturing, cherished and recognised for quality of design and build around the world. Whilst there are a few companies that draw the majority of the attention, there are hundreds of supporting businesses in the UK manufacturing premium solutions to deliver the industries global success.
It is great for businesses to be able to share their successes and have them showcased as part of the Made in Britain Impact Awards. From a personal perspective it is particularly encouraging to see the emphasis placed upon innovation that generates sustainable impact within the Awards categories. This is the biggest challenge we face as a planet and the positive impact that businesses can have upon this through innovation should be championed and copied.
