The Safety Letterbox Company Presents Gnoll Primary School With Their Customised Mailbox

Here at The Safety Letterbox Company, we are committed to our Social Responsibilities, part of this is instilling knowledge and skills into our future generations. The Partnership with 2B Enterprising gave us a perfect way to really make a difference in the teaching of the younger generation and providing extensive business knowledge.

2B Enterprising creates flexible learning programmes which teach young children to be enterprising whilst introducing them to valuable life lessons and skills. They deliver their programmes into primary schools in collaboration with the community & corporate engagement partners.

Their ‘Bumbles of Honeywood’ programme is the first Foundation Phase and KS2 enterprise skills initiative, which provides schools with the essential tools they need to help young children realise their future potential.

Resilience, collaboration, and hard work are key skills for children to learn, along with the basic foundations of business. These points will allow them to be creative and think with a can-do attitude.

The Safety Letterbox Company chose to support Gnoll Primary School in Neath. The primary school is a mixed school with ages 3-11 attending. The Safety Letterbox Company decided they wanted to teach the children all about manufacturing and the whole journey of how to design, manufacturer and to show how a product goes from concept to completion.

The Safety Letterbox Company created a small competition for the children to design a mailbox and the winner will receive a prize. The children were given a design brief to create a colourful mailbox for the school. The Safety Letterbox Company chose a design and filmed the process of the mailbox being made in their factory.

The short video talked about all the key points on how mailboxes are made, what materials were used, and the machines that were used in the process. The film also showed the chosen design and placing the vinyl of the chosen image being placed on the mailbox.

On the 4th April The Safety Letterbox Team went back to Gnoll Primary School to show the children the video that was made and show the chosen mailbox design. The children were so happy to see their designs come to life whilst improving their enterprising skills. The Safety Letterbox Company also gave the children a chocolate egg for all their hard work.

Alison Orrells, Managing Director of The Safety Letterbox Company, said:

‘As a business we are delighted to support the delivery of 2BEnterprising into a local school, to share our passion for enterprise and business, and to provide some exposure to the many roles and processes within manufacturing.’

Jayne Brewer, CEO of 2B Enterprising, added:

“We are so lucky to have partnered Gnoll Primary School with Safety Letterbox.  This company is innovative, ambitious, and enthusiastic about raising aspirations of young people through sharing insight into their business.  They have gone above and beyond creating this bespoke design for the winner of their Design-a-Letterbox competition.  To see these partnerships develop into valuable long term relationships is a key element to The Bumbles of Honeywood programme and we are very grateful to Alison and her team for their support.”
