TLJ celebrates successful 2023

The TLJ Access Control team took time out to look back on a successful 2023 with a team day followed up with a Christmas party night.

On 15th December the whole company met up at a local events venue where a delicious lunch set the scene for a fun and informative afternoon of presentations from all departments.

The afternoon started with an ‘ice breaker’ round of fun facts and then moved on to presentations from each department. The presentations covered highlights from the current year and plans for 2024. Every area of the business was represented including an overview of some exciting new products that have been developed by the R&D team for 2024 from Chief Operations Officer, Joe Martin.

The event provided a great platform for open and honest discussion between the different departments and allowed for newer team members to understand the role that each department plays in delivering our products and services.

As part of the event a vote was held for TLJ's charity of the year, the votes were split between two charities, so for 2024 we have selected Kidney Research UK and The Cottingham based Together in Grief Forest Project. The board of directors have agreed on amount that we will donate to these charities but we will also hold fundraising events throughout the year and offer volunteering services to help support the great work both of these charities do.

The presentations were followed by some tongue-in-cheek awards – ‘The Tony Awards’. These were well received and definitely gave the team a few giggles to round off the afternoon.

After a short break the team were back out and dressed to impress for a sit down Christmas meal and party night in the venue’s ball room.

Tony Martin, CEO, commented:

“The whole day was thoroughly enjoyable, it’s fantastic to see how far we have come since our inception in 2009 and great to see new members of the team bringing new ideas and suggestions to the table. I strongly believe that events like this are an important part of our development and help to ensure that everyone understands the important role they play in the company’s success. I came away feeling very proud of the team and all that they have achieved and I look forward to seeing their plans and ideas come to fruition in 2024”
