DEFENCE Composites specialise in the design and manufacture of body armour and PPE. Using their vast knowledge of materials and composites, they have developed their own protective face masks which are now in production from their manufacturing facilities in Greater Manchester.
Craig Mills, managing director, said, “We are delighted to announce that we are now manufacturing our own protective face masks using a composite multi-layer fabric called Freedom M1."
The tri-laminate fabric is hypoallergenic and water-repellent as well as being lightweight and highly breathable. The middle layer is manufactured using a Meltblown process which gives it excellent bacterial filtration efficiency.
Defence Composites created their own design which fits snugly to the face whilst also allowing space between the wearer’s face and the mask. The mask is easy to wear, using elastic ear straps and has a welded closure to create a full seal.
The fabric is certified to UNI EN 14683:2019 and is suitable for the manufacture of Type I and Type II surgical face masks. Freedom M1 has BFE (Bacterial Filtration Efficiency) of at least 98% for bacteria of 3.0 microns and PFE (Particle Filtration Efficiency) for particles of 0.1 microns.
Face masks can be supplied in boxes of 50 separated into 5 bags of 10 for easy distribution to staff. They can be ordered by visiting defencecomposites.co.uk
