WDS Components expands range of high-capacity hoist rings

WDS Components Ltd has expanded its range of hoist rings to meet the increasing demand for high-capacity, heavy-duty lifting solutions. The new additions include a variety of centre-pull, side-pull, and die-flipping hoist rings, alongside specialised Lift-Check™ and SP2000™ models, and an expanded line of base and bolt kits.

The range expansion is designed to meet the needs of industries where strength, precision, and safety are critical. The enhanced product range includes:

-Centre-pull hoist rings – Available in stainless steel, traditional U-bar and long U-bar variations, with 360° swivel and 180° pivot action
-Side-pull hoist rings – With 360° swivel designed for superior clearance in lateral lifts
-Lift-Check™ hoist rings – Featuring a patented screw with a visual tension indicator for hands-free inspection
-SP2000™ Lift-Check hoist rings – Combining side-pull design with safety-driven visual tension indicators
-Die-flipping hoist rings – Including an offset neck to provide clearance around die shoes, hydraulic lines, and auxiliary equipment.
-Centre-pull shackle-style hoist rings – For additional versatility and strength
-Base and bolt kits – Now available to complement the hoist ring installations

A Smarter Alternative To Eye Bolts

Unlike traditional eye bolts or nuts, hoist rings can accommodate lifting at an angle without loss of force, making them ideal for dynamic or off-axis lifts. Hoist rings are also known as lifting eye bolts or anchor points.

A swivel hoist ring is composed of several load bearing parts that work together. The bail, or connection point (an eyelet or pivot ring) works as the connection point, allowing for easy attachment of hooks, cables, or other lifting equipment. The body swivels freely around the bushing, held in place by a load bearing washer. Bushings provides compression, and a bolt threads into the entire hoist ring.

Higher Standards For Quality Parts

All WDS hoist rings are manufactured to a high standard and offer rated load capacities from 400kg up to 4200kg. All hoist rings are ASME B30.26 and MIL-STD-209K certified and undergo rigorous pull tests; they are rated with a 5:1 safety factor and tested to 200% capacity, demonstrating their ability to handle industrial workloads.

Robust And Reliable Lifting Solutions

“Our goal is always to provide our customers with robust, reliable and safe lifting solutions tailored to real-world challenges,” explains Sam Wilkinson, Technical Manager at WDS. “As part of a lifting review with an aerospace customer, we introduced a hoist ring from the Lift-Check™ range with the built-in load visible lift check indicator. It’s given their team added confidence during overhead lifts, especially for large cast components. They’ve since standardised these across their assembly line for critical lifts, improving both safety and process accountability.”

“Another moulding customer was struggling with safely rotating large dies for maintenance,” continued Sam. “We supplied a pivoting hoist ring designed specifically for lifting at these awkward angles. It’s made a huge difference: reducing downtime, limiting manual handling risk, and making their tool changes far more efficient.”

Designed For Demanding Applications

Whether lifting steel beams, concrete slabs or heavy machinery, the construction industry relies on heavy-duty hoist rings to operate in a safe, high capacity manner, while also adhering to strict safety regulations. When harsh conditions or corrosive factors require material integrity in marine or outdoor environments, these hoist rings provide a steady lift even in trying conditions. In aerospace, these hoist rings can be used for lifting jet engines, aircraft frames, or holding large components in place during assembly. In general manufacturing they are useful for installing or moving CNC machines, dies, or presses.

Explore The Range

Whether it’s the convenience of Lift-Check™ visual indicators or the extra clearance provided by side-pull or die-flipping designs, WDS hoist rings are engineered to meet both performance and safety standards.
