As a company and as individuals, we believe that it is essential to give back to our local community, especially during these difficult and unpredictable times.
Last year it was brought to our attention that Sunndach was trying to source bespoke swings designed for disabled children. Unfortunately, due to the high cost quoted, this wasn’t possible. As a manufacturer, we have the resources to design and manufacture bespoke products. We contacted Sunndach and offered to manufacture and donate swings designed to their specific requirements.
Sunndach is a 24-hour nurse-led respite centre within NHS Lothian. The teams care for children with complex care needs within a community-based environment; some on a residential basis, some who are shared-care and others who come in for respite. But the aim is the same for all – to provide a ‘home-from-home’ style setting for the children, with individually themed bedrooms and a range of personal touches to make their experience comfortable and dignified.
On Thursday 21st October, we were invited to attend the ribbon opening of the swings and witness first-hand the joy they bring to the children. Sunndach does an outstanding job supporting children and young people with special needs and their families. It was an absolute privilege to be in a position to help them.
