Bespoke Rigid Slipcases - Paper Covered or Wire Stitched

Product Description

A slipcase is a single piece box open on one end designed primarily to hold books, but can hold many different items.  For example, we have made them to hold comics, brochures, CD’s, and bottles.  We also make slipcases as the outer shell when creating a drawer box.

Typically, slipcases are die cut from 1 piece of card and hand covered with two pieces of paper.  If the slipcase is to be covered with a printed design, we can die cut a one piece cover so that the design wraps around with less joins.

The minimum internal spine width we can manufacture is 13mm, which is normally suitable for a 11mm spine book. The way we  usually assemble slipcases means that we have double thickness of board on the top and bottom, so if we use a 1.5mm cardboard, the top and bottom will be 3mm thick but the sides will be 1.5mm.  However, since purchasing a new Router machine, we are now able to manufacture these a little differently for some orders,  making them 'double thickness' on the sides, as well as top and bottom.  The method used is dependent on the individual order, and each slipcase is custom made to ensure a snug fit to the book, also to allow it to slide out easily when required by simply tipping it out into your hand.

As mentioned, the slipcase can be covered with printed sheets, or unprinted paper.  If you select unprinted paper, there's the option to add  a foil blocked or blind debossed logo onto it.   Slipcases can be left or right handed. This will determine which side of the slipcase the book slides out of, and will determine which side of the slipcase if the 'front'.  There are example images on our website to explain this if you need clarification on this concept.
