Product Description
Cornerstone Promix Coarse Basecoat is a dry ready mixed render and plaster designed as a coarse basecoat or float coat within an appropriate render system. Available in the colour white.
Engineered with precision, using 100% pure natural hydraulic lime, natural sands, and conservation-appropriate additives to create a high-performance render and plaster. Enhanced plasticity supports a decreased likelihood of slump and improved adhesion. Further, a longer open time makes this render undemanding to apply, level and finish. Available as standard with Saint-Astier® NHL2 or NHL3.5. Other binders and mix ratios are available upon request.
Well-suited for projects looking for a modern feel or a textured topcoat.
- Conservation appropriate additives
- Vapour permeable to support moisture management
- Features the feel of a modern mortar
- No-fuss levelling and finishing
- Increased water retention with decreased slumping
- Minimised likelihood of shrinkage cracking
- Enhanced workability for those behind the trowel
- Extended working and finishing time
- Promotes even curing for an improved bond
Area of use
Suitable for internal or external use, where the binder strength is appropriate for the host background or surface.
Cornerstone Promix Coarse Basecoat suits various render and plastering applications, including coarse render coats, dubbing out, scat coats, scratch coats and float coats.
For challenging backgrounds with very high or low suction, Promix Bonding Coat can be used as a coarse first coat, followed by a coat of Promix Basecoat on top. For a more traditional, slightly coarser and buff coloured finish, we recommend our Promix Traditional Basecoat. Appropriate for various project types, including conservation, renovation, or sustainable construction.
A 25kg bag yields approximately 15 litres of lime render or plaster and covers roughly 1.5m² at a 10mm thickness. Consumption rates will change based on how even the background is and suction. On-site trials are advised for the best yield indication for your specific project.
Supplied in 25kg polythene-lined and colour and batch-code paper bags for easy identification on-site and palletised for ease of transport, storage, and handling. FIBC tonne bags are also available.
