Product Description
Our lead glass observation windows are manufactured in our UK workshop to suit customers’ individual requirements and incorporate a lead core that runs through the frame and architraves providing continuity of protection and therefore complete ‘peace of mind’.
Windows are glazed with lead glass which meets the requirements of International Standards IEC 61331-2:2014.
Observation windows are available in a range of finishes and colours allowing customers to brighten the interior and enable certain areas to be zoned, according to the colour of the frames.
With an established client base each order is bespoke and manufactured to precise structural opening sizes.
The lead thickness will usually be specified by a Radiation Protection Advisor (RPA). The thickness of the lead will increase to achieve various levels of radiation protection starting from 1.32mm (Code 3) to 3.55mm (Code 8).
Although it is not often a requirement for observation windows to be fire rated it can be achieved by using specialist glazing to meet FR30 & FR60 requirements.
