This stunning, hand-dyed 4-ply yarn is a unique blend of 70% fine Bowmont and 30% Zwartbles wool, inspired by a striking stand of tall beech trees near the Devon/Cornwall border. The yarn is hand-dyed in small batches by Tanya of Boscastle Yarn, with each skein offering a truly one-of-a-kind colourway. The colours are variegated rather than solid, reflecting Tanya’s artistic vision and dyeing expertise—resulting in vivid, multi-tonal effects that bring every stitch to life. While skeins may share the same shade name, no two are exactly alike. 

We drew inspiration from the rich, ever-changing colours of beech leaves—from coppery purples and bright oranges to lush greens. The trees themselves sit atop Cookworthy Knapp, a locally cherished hill known by several different names. Some of these names now live on in the shade names within this exclusive range.
