British Electric Lamps Ltd was established in 1920 as a family business in the electrical sector. BELL Lighting remains a family run business to this day, with over 100 years of history in the electrical industry.

We have grown to become a leading manufacturer and supplier of quality light sources and fixtures to the electrical wholesale industry.  We have been at the forefront of lighting innovation since our inception, manufacturing a complete range of LED products from household lamps to fittings specifically designed for hospitality, sports, warehousing, office and manufacturing sectors. In 2023 we became Carbon Neutral, with a long-term goal of reaching Net Zero status, and we have aligned our recent product development with our sustainability values. In 2023 we released a circular economy focussed LED Modular Downlight, looking to reduce waste to landfill and start along a journey of sustainable innovation. The Firestay Geo LED Sustainable Modular Downlight won three awards in the first year since launch, winning the Lighting Product of the Year and Smart Buildings/Sustainability Product of the Year at the Electrical Contracting News Awards; the product also won a Build Back Better Green Award.

Due to continued growth, BELL Lighting moved into BELL House, an exceptional National Distribution Centre which was the result of a £2,200,000 investment. Our new facility boasts 100,00sq. ft of warehouse and office space, with 6,588 pallet locations and 2,100 saleable product lines. We have a 98% stock availability and we release over 300 orders on a daily basis.

Alongside our warehouse and office space, our NDC also houses a state-of-the-art quality control and testing facility, where we test all products and parts which arrive at BELL, and manufacture, rework and remanufacture a host of products in-house. Our testing allows us to maintain our standards, which has resulted in a return rate of just 0.3%.
