Autumn colours for ironmongery

Autumn is on the way, bringing with it an array of warm colours and tones. Rich reds, burnt oranges (our favourite!), golden yellows and toasted browns signify the change of the season. What’s the first thing you think of when we say Autumn? Colourful, falling leaves? Pumpkins? The warmth of the first fire of the season? Whatever you think, Autumn is intertwined with nature and a feeling of calm and comfort. It is little wonder that we want to echo this feeling in our spaces by bringing an outdoor feel inside.

Autumn and nature on the door

An autumnal colour palette pairs very well with natural materials such as wood and metal, or other tones found in nature. These are our top picks to work with an autumnal colour palette:

1.       Antique Brass. This popular finish looks fantastic with the reds, oranges and browns that personify autumn. Thanks to its slightly aged look, antique brass looks rustic and natural alongside these warm colours. With subtle golden tones, antique brass handles will mimic the warmth of the season. We can offer the antique finish on any of our brass handles

2.       Bronze. The natural good looks of bronze are enhanced with an autumnal interior and work well with deep, earthy colours. This handle matches well with the darker side of the autumn colour palette, alongside deep brows and burnt reds. Bronze will give a more dramatic, luxurious look to the room.  Check out our in-house bronze finishes.

3.       Copper. Fiery and vibrant, copper fits in seamlessly with autumnal colours. The natural warmth emitted from copper makes it a natural choice for cozy living spaces. Cutting a bright yet refined shape on the door, copper is perfect to echo the spirit of the season. We’ve worked extensively with copper in the past, contact us to see what’s possible.

4.       Timber. It could be argued that timber is a natural choice for any season, but autumn colours work perfectly with some of the darker timbers we have available such as walnut or oiled oak. Pairing the seasonal colours with timber will give your space a more biophilic feel, bringing the outdoors in. See our timber options here

5.       Powder coated flat matt black. Powder coated stainless steel will provide a good contrast to the warmer tones of autumn. Using matt black door furniture will instantly provide a contemporary feel to the room, whilst still emphasizing the beautiful surrounding colours. Find out about our in-house powder coating plant
