The news recently may have all been doom and gloom, with Brexit uncertainty, a Global Pandemic, redundancies and recession dominating the headlines. Despite all of this we are happy to announce that we have employed a new engineer to keep up with the manufacturing demand in our workshop.
With many of our engineers now returning to jobs on site for customers, we found ourselves in need of a new panel wireman at our Brierley Hill premises. Tony has worked for Banelec previously through an agency, carrying out installations on site on a number of our projects. After seeing how we work as a company and the family-like feel we have, he felt Banelec was the right company for him and asked to join our ranks on a permanent basis. Tony has already fitted straight in with the rest of the team, and we feel he will work well with staff and customers in house or on site.
Tony holds his Level 3 Diploma and NVQ in Combined Engineering (mechanical and electrical) and a Level 3 in Electrical Installation but is constantly striving to continue his education further. In his previous roles he has carried out a vast amount of installation work, regularly testing and fault finding on equipment on site. He is looking forward to new challenges inside the workshop, wiring and completing control systems in house, while continuing to carry out installation work on site for us when jobs arise.
This positive employment news comes as Banelec continue to invest in their future growth, with the purchase of the recently vacated factory next door, for the purpose of expanding our manufacturing capabilities and workshop space to allow us to keep up with demand.
Although we all experienced difficult times over the last 6 months it is encouraging to see that many local companies are still experiencing such success; with our neighbours Regis Upholstery moving to a larger premises due to workload, and our customer J Barnsley Cranes who build and export cranes worldwide being as busy as ever.
We have high expectations of a future post-Covid and look forward to seeing what the next chapter brings, and to see Tony grow into his new role within the company, we are very happy to have him on board.
