Byworth Boilers Ltd, a family run boiler manufacturer, were delighted to welcome Prime Minister Rishi Sunak for a tour of their facilities in Keighley, West Yorkshire. The Prime Ministers visit was part of a campaign to highlight the government's efforts to drive economic growth and support businesses.
Through the Towns Fund and the Levelling-up policy, the government are focusing on helping towns such as Keighley. These schemes are positively impacting not only businesses like Byworth Boilers but also the wider community.
The visit was a fantastic opportunity for Byworth to showcase British manufacturing at its finest. Demonstrating how they transform raw materials such as flat plate steel, to a complete industrial boiler ready for installation.
Rishi Sunak chatted with the team to gain further understanding of the hard work and dedication that is put in by those in the manufacturing sector on a daily basis. He was also keen to meet with Byworth’s apprentices and learn how they are thriving in the work environment, supported by mentors and industry experts that can provide the hands on training apprentices need to excel. He was impressed by the young talent, motivating him to create opportunities for their success. Sunak emphasised how investing in apprenticeships bridges skills gaps and drives economic expansion
Since the visit, the Prime Minister has revealed significant plans for 20,000 new apprenticeships. These programs aim to empower young talents and provide the skills needed to thrive in the challenging and ever-evolving global market. The commitment to invest in the future workforce is a clear indication of the government's focus on nurturing talent, driving innovation, and strengthening our economy.
