Dextra review project at Eveswell Primary School in Newport

Eveswell Primary School is a large English medium Community Primary School situated in an urban but pleasant area of Newport, South Wales.

Serving a catchment area of privately owned and rented houses, the school has a tradition spanning 133 years and has a very supportive community.

A modern school replaced the 100-year-old Victorian buildings in 1989. The new building was designed to house the two previous Infant and Junior Schools and they amalgamated in 1989.

The school sets very high expectations of achievement and this is reflected in the standards achieved by pupils at all levels of ability over many years. The school takes great pride not only in its academic successes but also in notable achievements in the fields of sport, music, drama and art at local and county levels.

Dextra supplied luminaires for this project where the main aim was to improve energy efficiency through the school buildings. It worked with contractor Camelot Electrical and customer Newport Norse.

Newport Norse, working in partnership with Newport City Council, is a highly successful company based in the city of Newport, offering a full range of property and facilities management services to the public and private sectors.

This was a successful project with energy savings of over 70% already achieved.
