Excell Metal Spinning Ltd has been officially shortlisted for the Made in Britain Social Impact Award 2025, recognising manufacturers that go above and beyond to support their communities and create meaningful social and economic benefits.
Founded in 2000, Excell Metal Spinning is a family-owned British manufacturer that has built its success on craftsmanship, innovation, and people-first values. From its Portsmouth headquarters, the company employs 22 local staff and works closely with educational institutions, charities, and local businesses to strengthen community ties and build the next generation of skilled manufacturers.
Excell’s social impact initiatives include recruiting graduates from the University of Portsmouth, providing apprenticeships and work placements in collaboration with PETA and HSDC College, and supporting T Level engineering programmes as a board member. The company also sponsors Moneyfields U14 Girls Football Team and partners with the University of Portsmouth on its annual Business Consultancy Project, helping students gain real-world experience in marketing and business strategy.
Beyond community engagement, Excell’s commitment to inclusive employment has transformed lives — providing skilled, long-term careers to individuals without traditional qualifications, some of whom have overcome significant personal challenges.

The winners of the Made in Britain Impact Awards will be announced later this year, celebrating manufacturers that exemplify innovation, community spirit, and sustainable growth.
