Flexible machining with the STAR SB-12
Techno Group are proud to utilise some of the most advanced machining equipment on the market. The STAR SB-12 is a highly versatile sliding head lathe in a small workshop footprint. It is the ideal choice for mass machining small components, that combines cost-effectiveness with consistent quality production.
Reducing lead-times with diverse machining capabilities
The main spindle is equipped with six turning tools and two fixed high-speed ER11 spindles for cross working. Additionally, there are three modular cross power-driven stations that can accept a range of cartridge attachments. This comprehensive tooling setup ensures that we have the flexibility to handle diverse machining tasks in the most effective way possible and reducing lead times for our customers.
Not only does the SB-12R Type G offer an array of tools, but it also provides the flexibility to switch between guide bush mode (Swiss type) and non-guide bush mode. This feature allows you to select the most suitable mode for specific machining requirements, further enhancing the machine’s adaptability and making it suitable for even more workloads.

Standard machining diameter: 12mm (13mm optional)
Maximum Z1 stroke of 205mm in Swiss mode (Guide Bush)

With all of this, its no wonder the SB-12 is one of the most relied on pieces of equipment in the Techno Group factory.
A compact powerhouse
Despite its small footprint, The SB-12 doesn’t compromise on power. The main spindle operates at up to 3.7kW, for extremely precise machining. The machine can also handle pieces up to 205mm in length and up to 12mm in diameter, meaning a huge range of small, bespoke components can be brought to life with the SB-12.
