Focus SB has been recognised for championing diversity and promoting inclusion in its workforce and via its community outreach work and has won a prestigious Sussex Chamber Business Award. A Disability Confident Employer since 2017 and volunteer Enterprise Advisers since 2018, Focus SB's equality initiative encompasses growing a diverse workforce by developing accessibility to career and training opportunities within a supportive workplace.
Awarded the Equality Trailblazer for Diversity and Inclusion winner trophy at a Sussex Chamber awards event held at DoubleTree by Hilton Brighton Metropole on 28th June hosted by Strictly Come Dancing celebrity Brendan Cole, Focus SB has been put forward to compete for the coveted national British Chamber Business Awards. The event was sponsored by Sherrards Employment Law Solicitors.
Mrs Val Chandler, Focus SB's Assembly and Warehouse Manager was delighted to be presented with the winner trophy by celebrity host Brendan Cole and was congratulated by category sponsor Mr Harry Sherrard. Also attending the event was Val’s husband Mr Richard Chandler from the same department and Mr Mark Curtis our Technical Manager and his wife. The Charity partner for the 2024 awards was the Wolo Foundation which helps families in Sussex affected by cancer in Sussex. Over £6,800 was raised on the night for this incredible cause.
Mrs Chandler, who works extensively with local charity Little Gate Supported Employment, planning work experience for schools and colleges and employing apprentices said: “It was a brilliant night had by all.”

The company is delighted to be taking part in this year's National Manufacturing Day on 26th September when its main factory will open it's doors to welcome visitors from industry and education, as well as local job seekers and the local business community.
