Get Ready for the Procurement Act

The Procurement Act 2023, part of the UK Government’s Transforming Public Procurement programme, will go live on 24 February 2025. These reforms are designed to create a more transparent, flexible, and efficient procurement system, benefitting suppliers, including SMEs.

Made in Britain has been monitoring the programme for Made in Britain companies and continues to work closely with the Cabinet Office (see links further below), which leads on the implementation of the programme.

To support suppliers in preparing for these significant changes, Made in Britain shares details of two free webinars the government will host in January 2025.

These sessions will focus on:
• Key changes under the new Procurement Act.

• A live demonstration of the central digital platform.

• A Q&A session to help suppliers prepare for go-live.

Webinar Dates:

• Thursday, 23 January 2025 (10:30–11:30) – Register Here
• Friday, 24 January 2025 (11:00–12:00) – Register Here

The webinars will be recorded and made available on the dedicated supplier information page on GOV.UK. Bookmark the page for updates, including ‘how-to’ videos and additional guidance materials.

• Made in Britain hosted an online roundtable in September focused on the new Procurement Act and the commercial opportunities it will open for UK SME manufacturing companies. Participating companies had the opportunity to speak directly with Shirley Cooper OBE, Small Business Crown Representative, Cabinet Office, on behalf of the UK government. This event provided an in-depth understanding of how SMEs can gain better access to – and be more successful in bidding for – public contracts in the UK.

• Made in Britain conducted a session titled Win New Business and Supply Government in the UK - July 2023, providing insights into how members can take advantage of government procurement opportunities.
