Government adds new tools to help with export and trade tariffs

THE Department for International Trade has added yet more new online tools to help businesses to export and find out about the new trade tariffs. This new set is in addition to the online facilities we reported on last week.

Check How to Export Goods (CHEG) online tool

Businesses that export goods out of the UK should visit the Check How to Export Goods online tool: https://www.gov.uk/check-duties-customs-exporting

The tool provides product-specific information about duties, Rules of Origin and customs procedures for over 160 markets around the world. It also provides information about the UK border.

Trade tariff look-up tool

Businesses that import goods into the UK should visit the Trade tariff look-up tool: https://www.gov.uk/trade-tariff

The tool provides information about tariffs, commodity codes, duties and VAT rates.

Trade with the UK (TWUK) online tool

Businesses that export goods into the UK should visit the Trade with the UK online tool at: https://www.gov.uk/get-rules-tariffs-trade-with-uk

The tool provides product-specific information about taxes, tariffs, commodity codes and regulations. It also provides dual tariff information for goods going into Northern Ireland.

Staff dealing with UK Global Tariffs (UKGT) are collecting feedback so they can learn about its impact and ensure it is working as intended. UKGT has published information on a Gov.uk page, which invites stakeholders to provide feedback back to a dedicated inbox – Tariff.Monitoring@trade.gov.uk
