At the start of Sophie Hope’s apprenticeship, she was asked about her hopes and expectations. As time nears the end of her apprenticeship, we felt it was a good time to review her experiences, things enjoyed, and lessons learned.
Sophie has been with Footstools Direct for almost eighteen months and has developed her skills greatly throughout her journey. She has completed all modules and exams and passed them all. Sophie has worked hard to enhance her knowledge both on her own initiative and at the workplace and it has really helped her development in her role and helped her understand more about the intricacies of the job.
Asked what her favourite part of her Digital Marketing apprenticeship Sophie said, ‘My favourite part has been how much there is to learn. You can never be stuck for things to do as the various aspects to learn and explore in my role are endless.’ Throughout her time at Footstools Direct Sophie has managed social media, email marketing and assisted in improvements to the website. She has been supported in this by her apprenticeship provider and staff at Footstools Direct.
Sophie said that the thing she has enjoyed the most is learning how everything works behind the scenes. People scrolling through social media and Google don't know the work that goes on behind the scenes. For instance, how much there is to do when posting a photo, writing blogs, and imparting useful information about the business for users of social media. Sophie relates to the detail and processes involved in bringing all the elements together.
In her time at Footstools Direct Sophie chronicled the manufacture and delivery of almost one hundred seating cubes to the world-famous Cavern Club in Liverpool. She has also been involved with other prestigious seating projects with retail brands such as the Sidemen, ASOS, Footasylum and Clarks Shoes.
Andrew Lydon (MD) said that the time since Sophie joined Footstools Direct in the Summer of 2022 “has simply flown by. She has fitted in seamlessly and is a valuable asset to the business in areas such as website updates, social media, and blogging.” Her digital marketing skills have been honed throughout the apprenticeship and she is now ready to embark on fresh future challenges.
She is due to finish her apprenticeship in December and has completed all the work and finished all her portfolios ready for the end assessment! We wish her the best of luck and are confident she’ll smash it and secure the brilliant final apprenticeship result she deserves.
