Mackwell Expands The XY-Fi Range

Consisting of Mackwell’s ELEDD MICRO driver and Nickel Metal Hydride battery technology, the XY-Fi XL is available with a choice of recessed or semi-recessed miniature LED lampheads. Both LED lampheads offer competitive spacings of up to 9 meters, together with a luminous flux of 145 lumens despite their compact 22mm diameter proportions. The additional lampheads complement the XY-Fi range for situations where the original XY-Fi lamphead is unsuitable due to heavy diffusers or increased lux level requirements. The increased lux capacity, in addition to the low power consumption make the XY-Fi XL one of the most versatile kits in the Mackwell range.

The white plastic fascia allows the XY-Fi XL to seamlessly blend into luminaire gear-trays, whereas the brushed metal option allows the product to be visible but not obtrusive when used in an open luminaire.

The conversion of existing luminaires allows designers and architects to create an invisible but compliant emergency lighting scheme. The decision to utilise a separate emergency lamp provides assurance that any faults or damage of the main luminaires light source will not negatively affect the emergency light output.

The ELEDD Micro has been configured to work specifically with each lamphead and battery configuration to give the best light output whilst also ensuring long battery life. This has been achieved by utilising a 450mA output alongside a 110mA SmartCharge profile.

Mackwell’s SmartCharge has allowed the XY-Fi XL conversion kit to be used in many luminaire conversions where a constant current charge module would not be suitable. A further advantage is that SmartCharge reduces the nominal power consumption of the entire kit to 0.5 watts. All this means the XY-Fi XL kit can become part of a compliant scheme whilst adding very little effort and energy usage to the mains lighting scheme.

These conversion kits are available with 3 hour emergency duration for both standard applications and DALI with self-test functionality for applications where an integrated systems approach is required.

Emergency lighting is a legal obligation that Mackwell believes should never be compromised. Safety should be through choice, not by chance.
