Made in Britain and the All-Party Parliamentary Manufacturing Group

Made in Britain is pleased to represent and promote Made in Britain members through our work with the All-Party Parliamentary Manufacturing Group (APMG).  The APMG fosters the exchange of knowledge and understanding between Parliament and the UK's manufacturing sector, raising the profile of manufacturing both inside and outside of government, and inform policy decisions.

Made in Britain and government

Made in Britain works directly with the government, including the Department for Business & Trade and Cabinet Office. The APMG is one of several channels we use to raise awareness of the Made in Britain trademark, the organisation and our member companies.  This supports Made in Britain’s engagement with decision-makers and influencers across the political spectrum and wider industry.

Made in Britain’s participation at the Conferences of the three main political parties is another way we highlight the importance of British manufacturing.

APMG participants

The group includes leading manufacturers, suppliers, industry experts, and Parliamentarians.

Companies and organisations supporting the APMG include Babcock, High Value Manufacturing Catapult, ERA Foundation, the Manufacturing Technologies Association and Tata Steel.

Recent participation

One notable example of feedback came via Made in Britain’s Parliamentary engagement and a recent online session with Lord Bilimoria of Chelsea, hosted by Policy Connect.  During this hour-long Q&A session, Lord Bilimoria, Chair of the UK’s Manufacturing Commission, shared his insights on the priorities for UK manufacturing for the incoming government. He thanked Made in Britain for the optimistic figures presented in the British Manufacturing Barometer, highlighting Made in Britain, its members and the UK's achievements in manufacturing.
