We are very proud of our bespoke manufacturing skills at Marlow Ropes, and nothing demonstrates this more than the skills of our splicing department. One of the many splicing projects we completed during Q1 has been finishing the 44mm diameter Mooring Lines for RRS Sir David Attenborough, formerly known as 'Boaty McBoatface' . The research vessel, owned by the Natural Environment Research Council, is operated by the British Antarctic Survey for research and logistic support.
Seen here, the 190m of Superline HS is a 100% Polyester high strength, low elongation "jacketed" rope that is a lightweight alternative to steel wire.
