A MEMBER of the Made in Britain organisation has won the prestigious manufacturer of the year award at the EEF Future Manufacturing Awards.

Huddersfield-based Paxman, a leading manufacturer of pioneering scalp-cooling technology, was the biggest winner on the night as it received the Manufacturer of the Year award – a title awarded to the most outstanding company amongst all the category winners. Paxman was also runner-up in the Innovation award and won the Business Growth and Strategy category.

The UK scalp-cooling expert has designed and manufactured pioneering technology used to reduce chemotherapy-induced hair loss. The judging panel said of Paxman’s work,This innovation displayed huge impact in terms of social and health benefits. It was multi-dimensional from finance, product development and service delivery. It clearly shows the benefits that innovation has upon business growth.”

Winners were selected by a panel of judges drawn from business leaders, industry experts and academics and Paxman was up against tough competition from a range of dynamic businesses, small and large, from across the UK.

Richard Paxman, CEO at Paxman, told Made in Britain,To be recognised as a leading manufacturer across the UK is fantastic. I’m thrilled with all of the awards as everyone within the business has contributed.
