One Nine Elms

Working together with developer Multiplex, Synetica have won a contract to supply almost 2,000 enLink Status-L – LoRaWAN Leak Sensors into the prestigious One Nine Elms residential towers to help monitor water leaks during the construction phase of the project.

One Nine Elms, based in Vauxhall, London, is being developed by owners R&F Properties who will construct the 56 storey City Tower together with a separate 42 storey River Tower and a 173 room luxury hotel that will occupy the lower floors of the River Tower up to the 18th floor. The two towers will be the tallest residential towers in Europe and will be connected with a glass bridge to provide access to City Tower’s facilities from River Tower.  On completion, the development will provide in excess of 730,000 sq ft of residential apartments, 267,000 sq ft of hotel accommodation and 1,000 sq ft of retail outlets. A large residential lounge and sky garden will be located on the fiftieth floor, offering wide, panoramic views of London across the River Thames.

Synetica’s enLink Status-L – LoRaWAN Leak Sensor detects the presence of water leaks, flooding and condensation using a water detection cable. Leakage or moisture is detected over the entire length of the cable and the device is available with various cable lengths to facilitate leakage sensing over a wide area. When an issue is detected, a message is transmitted up to 16km using long range LoRa wireless to generate an alarm so early action can be taken. Heartbeat messages are sent periodically to provide assurance that the system is operating correctly, and the monitor is powered via a long-life battery ensuring simple, low-cost installation.

The installation of the Synetica’s water leak monitors into One Nine Elms will ensure that the construction team are aware of any threats and building damage posed from water leaks on all floors of the two towers during the construction phase of the project. The sensors will monitor the entire site and provide information even on the most minor of leaks which can then be addressed in a timely manner preventing further damage and subsequent disruption or construction delays.

The enLink Status-L is suitable for a variety of applications including leak sensing during development but also for areas of a building containing highly valuable items or sensitive information such as data centres, offices, hospitals, museums and plant rooms.
