On 28 October, Made in Britain hosted an exclusive online session to explore opportunities to supply Rolls-Royce, one of the UK’s most iconic engineering and technology companies, known globally for its innovations in civil, defence and power systems. The session featured two Rolls-Royce representatives as speakers: Vice President Procurement Defence Future Programmes and Strategic Procurement Manager, Defence Future Programmes.
Rolls-Royce is at the forefront of engineering innovation that supports critical national infrastructure, international trade and global connectivity. It has a proud history of powering the UK, and it is a key part of the wider supply chain for innovation across the country.
Today, the company is focused on seizing once-in-a-generation opportunities across defence and civil aerospace, while also advancing low-carbon and sustainable solutions in power systems.
For UK manufacturers, Rolls-Royce represents an industry leader and an opportunity to engage in some of the most strategically important programmes of our time.
This session provided practical insights into Rolls-Royce’s supply chain priorities, product focus areas, and the steps Rolls-Royce is taking to improve its engagement with UK SMEs, enabling them to become part of this globally recognised supply base.
Made in Britain CEO, John Pearce (pictured) said: “Rolls-Royce is a proudly British business with the UK economy at its heart. Made in Britain is delighted to provide its membership with the chance to hear from one of our most successful companies and learn how they can access opportunities to supply them with high-quality, British-made products.”
In this session, Rolls-Royce introduced the company, its markets (Defence, Civil Aerospace and Power Systems) and key products. The speakers shared their future outlook, including major opportunities in defence and civil procurement, and explained the steps that Rolls-Royce are taking to make it easier for suppliers, especially SMEs, to engage with them, from industry standards to registering interest. They also provided an overview of New Product Introduction (NPI) and how it is shaping supply chain opportunities for decades to come.
Over 115 companies registered for the session to listen, discuss, and ask questions.
The session was hosted and facilitated by George Middleton, Advisor to Made in Britain and Director at MAP UK & International. It took place as part of Made in Britain’s ongoing supply chains support programme. Previous sessions include those with the UK Universities Procurement Consortia (UKUPC), NHS Supply Chain, Crown Commercial Service and Babcock.
