Swanline is delighted to confirm that they have been certified with the BRC Global Standard for Packaging and Packaging Materials. The Swanline sites achieved a Grade A in the audit, which is one of the highest achievable grades. This standard provides our customers with complete peace of mind that our packaging and materials are handled and processed under the exceptional hygiene standards demanded by the accreditation.
BRC Global Standards is a leading brand and consumer protection organisation, used by over 27,000 certificated suppliers in over 130 countries, with certification issued through a global network of accredited certification bodies. Their auditing processes and certification schemes are the most rigorous in the world. They are a benchmark for excellence and a beacon of quality and trust across the consumer product value chain. Achieving a high grade from their audit is a great honour and Swanline is proud to meet their high standards.
The BRC Global Standard for Packaging and Packaging Materials was the first packaging standard to be recognised by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). Many food and drink manufacturers and retailers require certification to the standard as a pre-requisite from suppliers, so it is widely used in the UK and worldwide. Packaging suppliers are also keen to comply with the standard as it can provide a competitive advantage when securing supply contracts in the food and drink supply chain.
CEO, Nick Kirby, commented on the latest achievement; “This is a great team effort and an excellent achievement for the business, this demonstrates the continuous hard work from everyone to the standard required for the BRC accreditation. It confirms our commitment to quality, continuous improvement and shows that we operate to the highest standards.”
British Retail Consortium (BRC) Food Packaging and Packaging Materials Certification is designed to demonstrate compliance in hazard and risk management, hygiene, product safety and quality systems. The accreditation requires a detailed assessment of the site, including all hazard and risk areas.
