By James Fudge, Judge for the Impact Awards 2023
As the UK’s national association for manufacturing technologies, and running the national show for engineering based manufacturing, the Manufacturers Technologies Association get to see a wealth of talent and innovation across a range of different sectors. The UK’s manufacturing base, and its associated Intellectual Property, continues to be a huge part of our economy, acting as a multiplier to UK GDP. With the growing trend for onshoring, or nearshoring, UK manufacturing is also set to help reduce the carbon footprint of the sector with locally made goods.
Awards like the Made in Britain Impact Awards, are a great way of showcasing our industry and celebrating the impact the UK has on both our own economy and the global supply chain. With manufacturing constituting the majority of our exports (and with scope for more) there has never been a greater time to sing the achievements of our industry so I am delighted to be a judge this year.
