Viscose Closures Becomes Made in Britain Members

Viscose Closures is celebrating becoming an approved member of the Made in Britain, an organisation that aims to bring together the British manufacturing community, united by the use of the registered mark.

Viscose has been manufacturing in the UK for over 125 years, developing a long and trusted reputation for excellence in quality, reliability, and customer service. The company produces tamper evidence and anti-counterfeiting solutions for packaging and offers a wide range of caps and closures from its HQ in Swansea.

Manufacturing in Britain is said to offer many advantages, including shortened lead times, reduced transportation, and reduced inventories to the benefit of the UK market. Recent developments have encouraged businesses to mitigate the risks arising from Brexit and the possible emergence of tariffs.  The uncertainty created by Coronavirus has further highlighted the need to onshore supply chains and support the UK economy.

Viscose prides itself on the technical expertise that comes from following a product journey, from the innovation concept through to completion, all under one roof.  Investing in robust innovation to ensure the continuous improvement of products and customer experience is paramount to a growing business. Having a solid UK network and strategic partners to support this process is also critical.

The demand for UK-manufactured goods has seen a revival over the last few years as growing numbers of consumers support British businesses.  Environmentally, consumers are increasingly committed to reducing their carbon footprint, which lends itself to sourcing within the UK.

Viscose has a strong commitment to reducing the carbon footprint of its manufactured product ranges and by developing environmentally friendly packaging, using biodegradable and compostable materials, including Cellulose and PLA. It is also working towards providing environmentally considerate, closed loop products, eventually in rPET films, as the supply chains mature.
