Updating the Articles of Association for Made in Britain

Working closely with specialist advisors at Bates Wells, the Board of Directors have made some enhancements and technical updates to the Articles of Association for the non-for-profit company, Made in Great Britain Campaign Ltd (‘Made in Britain’, ‘MiB’). There was a single resolution as follows;

1. Approval of the Articles of Association dated 13 June 2024.

The resolution was approved, unanimously, and the revised Articles of Association will be published to Companies House in due course. For Voting Members that wish to read through the changes, they are available only to members of Made in Britain via the Download Area of the website, post Login.

The key revisions that were made are as follows;

1.         Provisions related to operational and membership management have been removed on the basis that they are better placed in the terms and conditions. Accordingly, those provisions have been transposed over to the Terms and Conditions, with the legal counsel of specialist advisors at Bates Wells.

2.         The Powers in Article 4 have been simplified to grant the Company a broad general power to act in any lawful way that achieves its objects simplifying what was a rather exhaustive list.

3.         The Objects have been refined and now include a secondary objective of the organisation which is to contribute to the sustainable growth of the British economy by recognising the power of buying locally made products in reducing the ‘circularity gap of energy and raw materials.

To read the updated Articles of Association, members can download them in the Members' Area.
