The making of a monitor that works for you
In the field, we are seeing that a large majority of traps (>80%) can easily be monitored and diagnosed with a simplified monitoring solution. Our battery-free, Easy STM model is a simple 'out-of-the-box' solution for all types of steam trap up to 300°C (and up to 600°C for high-temperature version). With continuous monitoring for thermal measurement, vibration, and the local environmental. Monitoring of the acoustic environment allows the sensor to listen for leaks in the atmosphere from co-located equipment, such as isolation and control values.
Specifications
Our compact Easy STM takes up minimal volume, the standard temperature model is less than 100x60x65mm, making it much easier to install. The Easy STM model has 2 clips that will fit nicely between the pipework joints, such as unions, with temperature measurement on each side of the trap. The unit can be easily clamped to pipework and is supplied to mount to DN15 & 20, DN25 & 40 and DN50 pipework sizes.
Operating temperature
The standard temperature power harvester supports installation on pipework up to 200°C (392°F) and its remote temperature probe up to 300°C (572°F). The high-temperature version supports up to 600°C (1112°F) for both the harvester module and remote temperature probe.
Communication options
Easy STM sensors support standards based LoRaWAN networks. Communication options allow integration into an existing network or supply as part of a complete end-to-end DCO solution. This flexible approach is ideal to scale at pace and for large deployments. A LoRaWAN gateway can typically service up to 250 Easy STM sensors at distances of up to 1.6Km.
The benefits of the Easy STM steam trap monitoring solution are immediate. You get data and alerts in real time on the health of your traps. Furthermore, as a battery-free, self-powering model, you can get a rich dataset without the ongoing maintenance (no battery replacements). This results in lower up-front costs, lower life-time costs and a Return on Investment as soon as 11 months. Contact DCO Systems to request your free demo now.
