Silver nitrate has antimicrobial properties that can help prevent and treat infections in wounds. It works by releasing silver ions, which are toxic to bacteria and other microorganisms, thereby reducing the risk of infection and promoting wound healing. Silver nitrate works by chemically cauterising the skin to stop bleeding and destroys any unwanted tissue. Avoca by Bray silver nitrate applicators are available in 75% and 95% strengths. The silver nitrate is dispensed on a plastic 15cm flexible applicator. Designed for single use treatments. The active substance is silver nitrate, and the product contains potassium nitrate.
