Product Description

Cornerstone Marine LP6 is a dry ready mixed natural cement and natural hydraulic lime mortar for marine building and pointing work of water-bearing masonry. Available in the colour buff-tan.

Engineered with precision, using Prompt Natural Cement, Saint-Astier® natural hydraulic lime, and natural sands to create a high-performance mortar for freshwater and saltwater applications. Available as standard with Prompt Natural Cement and Saint-Astier® NHL5.

Well-suited for submerged fresh or saltwater applications that require an accelerated fast set to reduce the risk of tidal washout and a lower strength sympathetic to weaker substrates.

  • The lowest strength of the LP marine mortars
  • Sympathetic for weaker substrates
  • Roughly 74 minutes of working time at 17°C
  • Designed to provide a low strength and fast set
  • Reduced risk of washout in tidal zones
  • No pigments to prevent colour fading
  • Features an attractive buff-tan natural finish
  • Contains no Portland Cement
  • Contains no synthetic polymers

Area of use

Suitable for external use, where the binder strength is appropriate for the host background or surface.

Relevant for marine building and pointing work applications, including freshwater and saltwater environments above and below the water level, including tidal environments which require a speedy set to reduce washout. For a mortar which contains no Prompt Natural Cement, explore Marine L4. Appropriate for various project types, including conservation and renovation.

While Marine LP6 is entirely natural in colour and absent of any pigments, the environmental conditions and curing process will affect the final colour achieved. As such, we are unable to match this product against other materials. For colour-sensitive projects, our team can provide guidance on curing methodology.

A 25kg bag will produce approximately 14.5 litres of mortar and fill roughly 1.5m² of joint at a depth of 10mm. The width and depth of the joint will influence this estimation. On-site trials are advised for the best yield indication for your specific project.

Supplied in 25kg polythene-lined and colour and batch-code paper bags for easy identification on-site and palletised for ease of transport, storage, and handling.
