Product Description
Cornerstone Performance Scantle Mix is a dry ready mixed fibred and flexible mortar for bedding natural slate in traditional scantle roof applications. Available in the colour tan or grey upon request.
Engineered with precision, utilising 100% pure natural hydraulic lime, Prompt Natural Cement, natural sands, fibres and conservation-appropriate additives. This highly adhesive and flexible mortar allows for the natural thermal expansion of slate as the roof cools and heats whilst maintaining a robust bond to combat moisture penetration and the lifting of slate tiles due to winds. Available as standard with Saint-Astier® NHL3.5 and gauged with Prompt Natural Cement. Other binders and mix ratios are available upon request. The addition of black pigment is always available upon request.

Area of use
Suitable for external use, where the binder strength is appropriate for the host background or surface.
Suitable for laying slate tiles in traditional scantle roofing applications. Appropriate for various project types, including conservation, renovation, or restoration.
A 25kg bag yields approximately 15 litres of lime mortar. Coverage cannot be estimated accurately due to variations in bed depth and slate width. On-site trials are advised for the best yield indication for your specific project.
As natural products, our kiln-dried sands may exhibit variations in colour, texture, and shape. While these variations are minimal, when colour consistency is crucial, we strongly advise each elevation is completed using material from the same batch.
Supplied in 25kg polythene-lined and colour and batch-code paper bags for easy identification on-site and palletised for ease of transport, storage, and handling.
