Key Features and Technology
The V2V system provides 360-degree detection and relies on the communication between two essential components that interact with other V2V units across the worksite:
- Vehicle Sensor: Typically installed on the vehicle's roof, this sensor detects other V2V-equipped vehicles up to 50 metres away, effectively eliminating crucial blind spots and ensuring long-range detection.
- Control Unit: Positioned next to the driver, this unit features an alarm sounder, flashing lights, and a mute button. It processes the warning signals and logs all activity.
Proactive Risk Mitigation
The system proactively manages risk by defining two configurable warning zones transmitted between V2V units:
- Outer Warning Zone (Pre-Warning): Triggers a distinct alarm sound, granting the operator crucial time to react to an approaching vehicle.
- Inner Warning Zone (Close Proximity): Triggers a different alarm sound to signal immediate danger, ensuring the operator can stop and safely check their surroundings, preventing collisions and costly downtime.
