CHAIRED by Made in Britain CEO, John Pearce, the Innovation Nation: UK Healthcare Manufacturers on the Global Stage panel discussion took place on Thursday 19 May 2022, at The Healthcare Show 2022, ExCeL, London.
Together with members Peter Staddon, Benmor Medical; Richard Paxman, Paxman Coolers Ltd and Cliff Kirby, Needlesmart, the panellists explored product innovation topics including, ‘protecting your intellectual property’, ‘exporting British-made healthcare products’ and ‘what it means in manufacturing to be ‘disruptive’ with a purpose and targeting profit above publicity’. The panellists also responded to questions from the audience on the growing importance of digital innovation, what government support is available to manufacturers in the healthcare sector and the evolving perception of the Made in Britain mark in overseas markets.
John Pearce said, “Interacting with people in-person at major, sector-specific events is the only way to really understand exactly how the growth of British manufacturing fits into the UK healthcare sector economy more broadly. British manufacturing innovation in healthcare provision is proven to be world-class. The future prosperity of everyone depends on procurement professionals at all levels, identifying and prioritising products pioneered, designed, tested and made much closer to the healthcare centres where they are needed. The Made in Britain mark makes this easier for everyone.”
Exhibiting at the Healthcare Show were Made in Britain members, DDC Dolphin.
