Midstream Lighting, a world leader in aviation, maritime, horticulture and sports LED lighting technology, is today celebrating its announcement as a finalist at the prestigious Lloyds Bank British Business Excellence Awards.
“Environmental responsibility is, and always has been, at the core of our business,” says Midstream CEO and co-founder, Yuli Grig. “From the products that we design to the behaviours that we promote, we’re committed to doing everything we can to help lessen the impact that we – and most importantly our customers around the world – have on our planet. We’re honoured to have been shortlisted for this prestigious award.”
Employing our proprietary cutting-edge LED technology, Midstream’s lighting solutions allow its global customer base to reduce their power consumption by an average of 50%. With the company’s list of clients including numerous international airports, major maritime facilities, and large sporting venues, the company is playing an active role in helping some of the world’s most energy-intensive facilities tackle their carbon reduction commitments head on.
In addition to helping its clients reduce their carbon footprint, Midstream, an ISO 14001 certified company, continues to pursue a number of sustainability initiatives of its own. One of the first in the world to sign the Climate Pledge, the company has committed to reach net zero by 2040 – a full decade before the Paris Agreement specifies. And having already reduced its own carbon impact as much as possible, Midstream also plans to bring carbon offsetting to its supply chain.
“Everyone involved with the British Business Excellence Awards is delighted by the sheer calibre of competition amongst the finalists this year,” says Sarah Austin, Founder & Director of the British Business Excellence Awards. “The British Business Excellence Awards prides itself on being the UK’s premier celebration of business, and every finalist should feel proud and accomplished at what is already a fantastic and commendable accomplishment.”
Midstream’s position on the shortlist represents the latest in a growing number of high-profile commendations. The company is a two-time recipient of the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, and has been recognised in both the Sunday Times Fast Track 100 and as a Deloitte Fast 50 UK Tech company.
“Awards like this are important to us because they serve as a testament to the passion and commitment of our team,” concludes Grig. “We’re fortunate enough to see that in action every single day, and so we’re always pleased to see that hard work and dedication recognised externally as well.”
