LAST Tuesday’s webinar on ‘how to sell your Made in Britain products to the Ministry of Defence’ was our most illuminating procurement session yet. The event focused on non-combat items, across categories such as food, medical, veterinary, clothing and general supplies (e.g. cleaning products, glues and flooring).
Procurement experts Leidos generously fielded four speakers and made themselves available to answer as many questions as Made in Britain members wanted to put to them.
In addition to General Wardlaw’s words in the press release [https://www.madeinbritain.org/news/ministry-of-defence-in-talks-with-made-in-britain-to-target-prospective-british-sme-manufacturers] shared with the UK media and via Leidos’s 250,000 global followers on LinkedIn [https://www.contractsfinder.service.gov.uk/Search], Major General Hutchings spoke and reinforced the Ministry of Defence’s keenness to work with UK companies and SMEs, while also putting in the context of the circular economy and green growth.
The session confirmed the synergies we see between Made in Britain, Leidos and the Ministry of Defence.

Our thanks again to Leidos and the Ministry of Defence, as well as all Made in Britain members that were able to join the session.
We hope even more members will take the opportunity to connect with buyers at the next session scheduled with Leidos for the autumn, as well as wider activity in the meantime.
