Product Description
Cornerstone Fibred Coarse Putty Mortar & Basecoat Render is a wet ready mixed multipurpose non-hydraulic lime putty mortar for general building work or as a coarse basecoat render with fibres for reinforcement. Available in the colour buff.
Engineered with precision utilising non-hydraulic mature lime putty, natural sands and fibres to create a high-performance multipurpose mortar and render. The addition of fibres assists with mitigating cracking and shrinkage while improving the load spread of the render. Made with our own premium lime putty, matured in our pits on-site for a minimum of 4 months. As a fatty lime with a high free lime content, our non-hydraulic lime putty range is more breathable, porous and flexible than our Natural Hydraulic Lime ranges.
- Well-suited for rendering applications looking for a coarse fibered basecoat for additonal reinforcement and to minimise the likelihood of shrinkage cracking.
- The only lime putty render in the range with fibres
- Contains alkali-resistant fibres
- Made with our own four months matured lime putty
- No pigments to prevent colour fading
- Multipurpose use for building or rendering
- Ideal for traditional wooden lath
- Vapour permeable for improved moisture management
- Decreased likelihood of shrinkage cracking
- Straightforward to use and knock up
- A fatty and workable mortar for those behind the trowel
Area of use
Suitable for internal or external use, where the binder strength is appropriate for the host background or surface.
Fibred Coarse Putty Mortar & Basecoat Render is a suitable for general building and rendering applications, including coarse render coats, dubbing out, scat coats, scratch coats and float coats. Suitable for stonework, brickwork applications with different joint sizes where the appearance of fibres is not an aesthetic concern. For a coarse pointing mortar without fibres, explore Coarse Putty Mortar & Basecoat Render.
A 20kg tub yields approximately 10 litres of wet lime mortar or render. For rendering, this covers roughly 1m² at a 12.5mm thickness. For brickwork pointing, this will fill roughly 1.2m², for stonework pointing 1m² at 25mm depth or bedding 0.5m².
As natural products, our natural sands may exhibit variations in colour, texture, and shape. While these variations are minimal, when colour consistency is crucial, we strongly advise each elevation is completed using material from the same batch.
Supplied in 20kg buckets and palletised for ease of transport, storage, and handling. FIBC tonne bags are also available.
