Made in Britain is a fantastic organisation that recognises British businesses dedicated to delivering the highest possible standard of British manufacturing and, by doing so, simultaneously celebrating the lengthy heritage of incredible British manufacturing.
As proud members of Made in Britain, we know it’s not a walk in the park to be accepted into such elite company and receive the honour of displaying the protected Made in Britain mark on all our products and literature.
To gain such an honour, all our products must be proven worthy to carry the moniker, and we must always adhere to a stringent code of conduct and continuously provide evidence we meet the rigorous quality-control checks in place to evaluate businesses and their products.
Like every other business that’s a member of Made in Britain, it’s confirmation that those companies are proven to offer three things:
· Products that are made to the highest possible quality.
· Products which represent true value for money.
· Products which are safe to use or consume.
Managing Director and Founder of Audax® said this of Made in Britain: “Our Made in Britain membership is something we are very proud of and is another clear differentiator between our best-in-class BWV solution and those of our competitors – many of whom simply rebadge all of their imports from China. At Audax, we take immense pride in manufacturing our entire docking station solution ( which is the key part of the solution) here in Britain.
In a similar vein of demonstrating our commitment to British quality publicly is also our commitment to being a “Good Business”. And not just being a good business – but being recognised as one to demonstrate our dedication to being the best business we can be – and hope other ambitious companies join us on that journey".
To do this, we’re part of The Good Business Charter (GBC) - an amazing accreditation which recognises and champions those companies that adopt the best practices across a number of crucial areas. https://goodbusinesscharter.com
In a world where everyone is paying so much more attention to not just what a healthy workplace culture is – but also how their employers run the business from the top down – showing you’re a responsible and fair place employer is vitally important.
More than ever, we have a generation who are willing to stand up for the right to have employers hold themselves accountable to higher standards – and the GBC allows those who are to doing precisely that to shout about it, and collectively raise standards.
Whilst any business across all industries and sectors can apply, once again, it’s far from a breeze to get the privilege of being part of the GBC. Your behaviours as a business are scrutinised across 10 core components:
· Real living wage
· Fairer hours and contracts
· Employee well-being
· Employee representation
· Diversity and inclusion
· Environmental responsibility
· Paying fair tax
· Commitment to customers
· Ethical sourcing
· Prompt payment
To have such an accreditation attributed to your business is, for us here at Audax at least, an absolute no-brainer.
Who wouldn’t want to showcase how much of a fair and ethical employer they are?
What business wouldn’t want to be able to point to such an accreditation to entice the top talent to their organisations?
Being part of the GBC is a commitment to running your business the way that we all agree it should be – built on fairness and equality for all within the company, not just those at the top, but also to ensure correct taxation on those who trade in Britain, and a desire to help improve the environment whilst always putting customers at the forefront.
As an accreditation, the Good Business Charter has full support from both the CBI and the TUC, which both have trustee representation on their board, with another key partner of the GBC being the Living Wage Foundation https://www.livingwage.org.uk
Here's what the Managing Director of Audax®, Adam Liardet, had to say:
“As Audax® were worldwide Pioneers in Body Worn Video (BWV) technology, we are also proud to be one of the first businesses that adopted the Good Business Charter some 5 years ago.
Providing award-winning products is one thing, but having recognition for how we conduct ourselves as a business is of particular importance to Audax, its employees, and its customers.
Every responsible organisation should aspire to reach the highest possible standards in their conduct. Being able to publicly prove and advertise a commitment to achieving and supporting the 10 components that make up The Good Business Charter, we hope to encourage and inspire other businesses to follow suit”.
With Audax the pioneer of BWV for over 20 years and a long-serving, well-established British manufacturer, it’s a great honour to be able to say the company is part of two such fantastic initiatives and able to share the coveted marks on our products and literature – we do so with enormous pride.
Imagine what credibility adding such an accreditation could do for your business and the impact it could have on future growth…
