YANA Active, a North East business founded by sisters and business partners Sophie and Charlotte Wilson have secured a pop-up shop in Newcastle John Lewis during this October Half Term.
The sister-duo founded YANA Active in December 2019 with the intention of empowering women by designing and manufacturing high-quality, activewear in Britain and enhancing the concept of multi-functional and fashionable activewear with an alternative style.
“The vision for YANA is to provide women with functional and beautiful activewear that won’t let them down, whilst creating an inclusive, yet exclusive community via YANA’s blog and social media channels. The aim is to bring like-minded women together, share goals, dreams, accomplishments and even failures” said YANA Co-Founder Charlotte Wilson.
Co-founders Charlotte & Sophie Wilson spent almost two years developing YANA Active’s brand and products, whilst working full-time and developing property in the Newcastle area. YANA Active’s products are all designed in-house by co-founder Charlotte, manufactured in the North East and their leggings contain specialist technology that helps to reduce the appearance of cellulite.
“Our first year in business hasn’t been as we expected and planned due to Covid-19. When the country went into lockdown, we turned our efforts to supporting our local community by raising money and donating YANA activewear to Newcastle Women’s Aid and producing content for our community of ‘Everyday Warriors’ to engage with from their homes.
“To secure a pop-up shop in a nation-wide retailer with a reputation for high quality and customer service, aligns closely with our brand and is exactly the opportunity YANA needed during a year which has been very difficult to launch a start-up” said YANA co-founder Sophie Wilson.
YANA Active will have a pop-up stand on the first floor in John Lewis Newcastle Eldon Square branch from Monday 26th October to Sunday 1st November 2020.
