The Cygnus DIVE ultrasonic thickness gage has been designed for divers undertaking metal thickness measurements in some of the harshest environments and needing the ability to easily navigate around obstacles unhindered when performing underwater UT inspections. This gauge offers 3 versatile measuring modes, A-scan to assist with measurement verification, stores up to 5,000 measurements (plus A-scans), has an Auto-Log feature which requires no log button to be pressed, HelmetView™ remote display for divers in black or limited visibility water, CygLink software that facilitates easy data transfer and analysis, plus much more.
As with all Cygnus thickness gages, the Cygnus DIVE employs the multiple-echo measuring mode which provides error-checked, accurate ultrasonic thickness measurements through coatings up to 20mm thick, when used in ‘Deep Coat’ mode. So, protective coatings and paint do not have to be removed when using the Cygnus DIVE thickness guage.
In addition to the multiple-echo mode, this gauge also offers other measuring modes for corrosion testing: echo-echo mode for testing coated metals (up to 1mm) with heavy back wall corrosion or pitting and; single-echo mode for checking uncoated materials, metals with extreme corrosion, specific geometry, attenuative materials and a wide range of plastics.
