The Cygnus Mini ROV Mountable ultrasonic metal thickness gauge has been specially designed to be mounted onto small observation ROVs with or without a manipulator facility to gauge steel and other metals or materials. The Mini ROV metal thickness gauge is pressure tested to 500 m and uses a thickness sensor to measure material thickness. The unit is also supplied with CygLink software for logging thickness measurements and uploading logged readings from the gauge to a computer for reporting and/or analysis.
As with all Cygnus ultrasonic thickness gauges, the Cygnus Mini ROV Mountable employs the multiple-echo measuring mode which provides error-checked, accurate thickness measurements through coatings up to 20mm thick, when used in ‘Deep Coat’ mode. So, protective coatings and paint do not have to be removed.
Also available to purchase, in addition to the Cygnus Mini ROV Mountable, is the Topside Repeater (TSR). The TSR displays thickness measurements remotely and overlay them on to a video signal, allowing measurements to be superimposed on the ROV camera’s monitor screen.
