Made in Britain celebrates the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

Members’ stories show affection for the monarch and a nation ready to celebrate

OUR marking of the 70th anniversary of the Queen ascending to the throne began a couple of months ago with our call out to members for stories around the 70 years theme. We are still gathering the stories for use throughout the celebration year, so read the story here.

In our next article, we looked at young people in member companies. The Queen was just 25 years old when she was crowned, so we asked for your stories about staff members of a similar age. The article is here.

We then called out for family businesses to get in touch, and lots did. The call-out article is here and the first of our response articles is here.

Week four asked about your royal connections and warrants. It also included a round-up of activity so far. We would still like you to post your news stories about this, so catch up here.

Then we asked you all about your Jubilee-themed products and it seems you’re adding them to the directory all the time, so tell us more. Details are here.

The Queen’s famous love for her corgis inspired the next article and there is no shortage of members serving the pets sector. Here’s what we asked them to do.

As the big day approached, we went all out to make sure all the preparations were underway for a party to remember. Read our final call out to members here.
