That's a wrap! Our Coronation round-up

On the run up to His Majesty King Charles III Coronation, we asked Made in Britain members to share their stories.

As King Charles has over 70 years of experience, we asked members to tell us about their business longevity and family succession, and to look at how their business has changed over the years. We heard from Cottam Brush who looked back at their incredible 165 years, their succession of MD's and how changes in the world have influenced their business. Measom Freer & Co discussed how they set up 86 years ago and that family has always been at heart. They are now owned by the third generation, with the fourth working to move the business forward with a focus on innovation.  Additionally, Versapak celebrated their 50 years of tamper evident excellence with a staff event, their article discussed their event, their loyal staff, their sustainable efforts, as well as their Royal Warrant appointment.

The Hillbrush Company Ltd told Made in Britain members about their visit from Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II in 1952 at their factory in Warminster. They wrote about how memorable it was for all involved, and even more so, when they received a Royal Warrant in 1981, which they held until the Queen's passing in 2022.

We heard from numerous members who have produce special products to celebrate the Coronation:

- Chow Bella's limited edition bone china mugs feature a King Charles spaniel and the words 'Dog save the King' on one side, with the Royal Emblem on the reverse.

- Pink Pig created books to record memories such as writing, painting and drawing.

- Dartington Crystal also presented their exclusive array of commemorative products featuring invaluable keepsakes which are befitting to the significant evident.

- Peper Harow Limited announced their latest collection of limited-edition luxury Coronation socks to celebrate the historic event. The socks features the crown, the Union Jack, and the royal colours.

The Honest Bottle is the only reusable bottle, designed and manufactured locally in the UK from locally sourced recycled single-use bottles and is 100% recyclable.

- Two members collaborated to create a product to celebrate the Coronation. Dartington Crystal supplied Essence of Hartland with handblown crystal vases engraved with the words 'King Charles III, 6th May 2023' which formed part of their limited edition 'Carolean gift' set. The gift set created a unique home fragrance designed and based on the historic Coronation anointment oil.

In addition to products celebrating the Coronation, we also heard from British Drum Company who told us about their involvement with King Charles III Coronation. They created 50 new drums featuring the new King's cypher and the addition of the Tudor Crown to the Royal Coat of Arms which were used by the Royal Marines. Stu Warmington, Marching Division Manager from BDC told us 'we are incredibly proud of everyone at BDC HQ. It is a big moment to see the drums being used on this auspicious occasion".

To end our Coronation round-up, we would like to congratulate members, Focus SB, PALLITE and Purple Line Ltd who received the first ever King's Award for Enterprise.
